Authoring Nature, The Dossier
This Dossier stemmed as a personal passion-project accompanying Natalie Cheung Ai Wen's Master Thesis: Authoring Nature.
Authoring Nature is a commentary on Singapore's vice-like grip on nation building - in particular, the construction and misrepresentation of nature as part of the state's national image. The dossier delves deeper into the myths of the Merlion, animals of the Singapore Zoo, homegrown mascots and wildlife that form part of a larger picture in the manipulation of a national narrative of a photogenic landscape.
